Health Centre Laboratory
Bringing the Laboratory Back to Life
Since 2007, the laboratory at the Noguchi Health Centre has been out of action. This has meant that patients who need basic tests must be referred to hospitals in Winneba or Apam, often involving long journeys, delays, and increased risk while waiting for results.
Reopening the laboratory would make a vital difference. On-site testing would allow for faster diagnoses, safer treatment decisions, and fewer unnecessary journeys. It also makes follow-up care easier, as patients are far more likely to return when services are available locally.
We are raising funds to help Mary and her team purchase the essential equipment needed to fully restore the lab and make these services available once again.
Equipment needed:
-
Microscope
-
Centrifuge (12-bucket)
-
Haematology analyser
-
Chemistry analyser
-
Water bath
-
Autoclave
-
Laboratory refrigerator
-
EDTA tubes
-
Clinical dustbin
