In a dedicated effort to uplift and empower young girls, TEABAG recently distributed free sanitary towels to three schools: TEABAG Technical and Life Skills Institute and Mankoadze D/A JHS in Mankoadze, and Bewadze D/A JHS in Bewadze. This initiative seeks to address the challenges many adolescent girls face during their menstrual cycles, while also promoting education on menstrual hygiene. Acknowledging the critical role menstrual hygiene management plays in a girl's education and overall well-being, TEABAG's contribution ensures that no girl misses school due to a lack of access to essential menstrual products.

In addition to distributing sanitary towels, TEABAG partnered with dedicated nurses from the Mankoadze community clinic to conduct educational workshops on menstrual hygiene. These sessions focused on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and overall well-being during menstruation. With hands-on demonstrations, the nurses provided practical guidance on the correct use of sanitary towels and shared tips for managing period discomfort. They also encouraged the girls to prioritise their studies and vocational training, inspiring them to pursue their academic and career goals with enthusiasm. The workshops emphasised the transformative power of education in achieving their dreams and building a brighter future.

Recognising the importance of a well-rounded education, the program also included discussions on sex education. The nurses emphasised the value of understanding their bodies, making informed decisions, and focusing on abstinence until they completed their education. They provided the girls with valuable advice on maintaining their health and well-being, while providing a supportive environment for open dialogue and guidance.

TEABAG’s initiative has made a meaningful impact on the young girls at these schools. By addressing critical topics like menstrual hygiene, education, and sexual health, TEABAG is helping to remove barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential.
